In this video, I do a side by side showdown review of two coin ring-making tools.
The first tool (which is linked below) is one I got off of eBay. It is a tool specifically designed for punching a 1/2″ hole into a quarter. I really like this tool and highly recommend it.
The second tool is a punch and die 9 pieces set from I got from Harbor Freight. It works pretty good and has many options for hole punch sizes. Centering the quarter in this kit is quite tough. I often get off-center holes which I have to correct by filing the hole until it is even.
While both of these tools have pros, I think for the purpose of punching half-inch holes into quarters for making coin rings, the first tool is the clear winner of this showdown.
